As we draw to the close of another enriching year of bible study, I wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has faithfully participated in our Bible studies throughout 2024. Your commitment and enthusiasm while studying the books of Acts, the Gospel of John, and Hebrews have been truly inspiring.

Looking ahead, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Christmas-themed Bible studies. This year, we will be delving into a fascinating exploration of the Magi’s gifts to the infant Jesus. We’ll examine the profound symbolism behind gold, frankincense, and myrrh, unpacking their theological significance and what these extraordinary gifts reveal about the identity and mission of Christ.

This Christmas, amidst the rush for gifts, remember the greatest gift ever given Jesus Christ.

The gifts of the Magi reveal the full scope of Jesus’ mission—King, Priest, and Sacrifice. Through this series, we will explore how these gifts not only point to His identity and purpose but also invite us to respond in worship, surrender, and faith.

These studies are on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th in the normal places at the normal times!

This December the online bible studies Christmas Season title is, The best gift for. You can find out more online here. Bible studies are on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December and will consider the gifts of the Magi.

The gifts of the Magi reveal the full scope of Jesus’ mission—King, Priest, and Sacrifice. Through this series, we will explore how these gifts not only point to His identity and purpose but also invite us to respond in worship, surrender, and faith.

Independent Methodist Church, Enfield Rd, Seaham

I hope you’re doing well! As summer winds down, we wanted to take a moment to share some updates with you and let you know what’s coming up.

First, we had a two-week mission at a church this summer. We were grateful to connect with a few people–both children and adults–and share the love of Jesus with them. Every opportunity to spread the Gospel and offer hope is a blessing, and we’re thankful for the doors God opened.

Now, we’re excited to announce that our online Bible study groups will be restarting in October! We’ve got three studies lined up:

• Moving On on Tuesdays, where we’ll continue exploring the Book of Acts, following the early Church’s journey and the spread of the Gospel.
• Behold the Lamb on Wednesdays, which will take us into John’s Gospel, focusing on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
• Better Than the Best on Thursdays, where we’ll dive into the Book of Hebrews, exploring how Jesus is greater than anything the world can offer.

We hope you can join us for these studies as we grow together in our faith and understanding of God’s Word. Your support and involvement mean so much to us, and we’re excited about what God has in store for us this season.

Towards the end of October in the school holidays we plan another one-week mission in Seaham.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and encouragement. Let’s continue to stand together, sharing the love and truth of Jesus with our community.

The online bible studies conclude this week.

Plans are underway for Missions during the Summer and Autumn.

Esh Winning August 4th to 16th. Meetings are Monday to Friday 7:00 – 8pm and Sunday at 6:30pm. On Sunday 18th at 10:45am there will be a Celebration Service - all at Esh Winning Baptist Church, Durham Rd, Esh Winning, Durham DH7 9NP. Meetings will include musical items, talks about the Bible and coffee and chat at the end.

Also for children 5-11. August 5th to 16th, Monday to Friday 2-30 to 4-30pm. Activities include games, bible stories, quizzes, magic and singing.

Bible studies continue after Easter with two new series starting. Here’s a quick overview of what’s in store:

• Tuesday Sessions: We’ll be diving into the book of Acts, specifically exploring the fascinating topic of This Jesus.

• Wednesday Gatherings: Having completed our journey through Revelation, we now delve deeper into God’s activity in Israel through the prophet Elijah. The God Who Answers by Fire.

• Thursday Discussions: Our studies will focus on The Holy Spirit. Knowing the Spirit.
