Psalm 2

Psalm 2

(Read Psalm 2)

This particular Psalm begins with a futile situation, stating the obvious, those rulers and those they rule are in a pointless exercise of fighting against God.

Why are people so hostile to God? Basically because if we acknowledge that God is, then we recognise the truth that He is someone to whom we must one day give an account and we like to boast, with apologies to Frank Sinatra, ‘I did it my way’.

The reason this is an empty exercise is because God has already chosen a ruler, a King, his own Son. He is the way to enjoy life to the full. John 14:6

Therefore there is still hope as the Psalmist concludes this Psalm. Be reconciled to the Son and know God’s grace, it is the only way for this life and for eternity. We need to decide whose side we are on.
