Psalm 1

Psalm 1

(Read Psalm 1)

There are two pictures of humanity presented to us in this short Psalm. Both are often displayed in the bible, for example the two brothers, Cain and Abel, and The Lord Jesus. Mark 9:40 reads ‘For he who is not for us is against us’.

Those who Jesus says are for us, on the same side as the Lord, are classed as Godly and they live a life that is in tune with God’s mind and will as a result gather rich blessings which enrich their lives here and in eternity.

The others, whether religious or not, are classified as Godless and despite outward appearances they are poverty stricken in God’s sight.

We need to learn to keep our eyes firmly fixed on the Lord Jesus and follow His example.
