Psalm 139

Psalm 139

(Read Psalm 139)

The Psalmist in verse four talks about something that he has just realised fills him with astonishment. The modern idiom could be spot on, ’he was gob-smacked’. What was it that caused this situation? It was the fact that God knew everything about him, an interesting insight. It has dawned on the writer that in every part of his life, including the mundane actions he was involved in on a daily basis, God was involved.

It is something that ought to fill us with encouragement, whether we are prince or pauper. God is concerned about us and is always there. We have a plaque that states ‘Bidden or Unbidden God is present’ and that is why God states that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, Acts 2:21. Being concerned he is always on hand to respond to our prayers.
