Psalm 21

Psalm 21

(Read Psalm 21)

King David finds his delight in the strength of the Lord. This strength has worked great deliverance for him. Many times he discovered God’s deliverance for him and his friends. Therefore he was able to rejoice in his salvation.

Every Christian should know this joy as we enjoy the knowledge of sins forgiven and peace with God. However, like the Psalmist, often we forget the wonder of God’s deliverance. We sometimes need to cry to God restore unto me the joy of the salvation, Psalm 51:12, for we are very forgetful about the great work of God’s salvation in us, bringing us up from doom and gloom to a place of peace and rest. This is part of the richness of Gods salvation, a permanent friend.

Habakkuk understood this, Habakkuk 3:17-18, in the midst of a series of catastrophes he could say, yet I will rejoice in the God of my salvation, for the Lord is my strength Psalm 3:8, salvation belongs to God. Salvation is therefore a certainty to all who call on Him and as such it should be a constant source of joy and rejoicing in all the different situations of life in which we find ourselves.
