Psalm 135
We live in a very casual environment where people are more careless, more lacking in respect for authority and sadly this attitude has invaded Christian thinking in relation to God. One actress describes Christ as ‘a living doll’, to many he is their chum or the man upstairs. It is true that Jesus calls us friends, John 15:15, but you should read verse 14 as well. We must not forget that he is God. We have an intimate relationship with God in Christ, but like the Psalmist, we must recognise his greatness, his majesty, his power and authority and the holiness of his character. We must be careful not to treat him as a casual relation but in awe and reverence with humility worship him and rejoice in the grace he has shows in being in fellowship with such a wonderful God.
