Psalm 45
There is only one true king and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is described as the King of Kings and the ruler of kings and both these descriptions represent his true majesty. The Psalmist begins the Psalm with both his hand and his mouth full of admiration for the king, full to overflowing with the beauty and majesty of the king. In Song of Solomon 5:16 (AV) he is described as ‘altogether lovely’.
How often are we like the Psalmist, how often is our heart and mouth overflowing with praise and adoration for our great king and not just in our services but in the quietness of our homes or as we travel. It seems that apart from a small number we have become almost dumb before those who are not of us. How different to the Psalmist!
