Psalm 61

Psalm 61

(Read Psalm 61)

There are many good things about our God that we sometimes forget or sometimes because it is beyond human logic, and we fail to understand.

One of these raises its head in this Psalm and it is the omnipresence of God. The Psalmist proclaims that he cried out from the far ends of the earth and God heard and answered. He knew that wherever he was, he could still be in touch with his God. As a young Christian I remember someone saying if you want to know how close God is reach out and touch a Christian. However for the Christian the omnipresence of God is closer than that, for the New Testament reminds us that He is with us and within us, each and every believer. For the non-christian it is a frightening reality, for from God there is no hiding. He knows us and sees us and that is why the Bible tells us, that we can be sure our sins will find us out.
