Psalm 55
Once again David cries to the Lord in his distress. The problem that made this situation so difficult was not the enmity from those who were outsiders but to his dismay, the enemies are from within his close friends and family.
The Lord Jesus, David’s greater son, had a similar experience in that a member of his inner circle, Judas, connived with his enemies to bring about his downfall, he was betrayed for thirty silver coins Matthew 26:15.
Sadly many Christians find that their main detractors are from within the church, our language, our attitude, our grasping has driven many believers to leave their home fellowship and doubly sad so many are so hurt that they end up going nowhere. Where is the love that covers as expressed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 ?
