Psalm 34

Psalm 34

(Read Psalm 34)

One of the great truths that some of us struggle with is that beautiful expression of the love of God. We are in his hand and none shall pluck us out. In other words our total security is in Christ.

Here in the seventh verse of this Psalm the Psalmist expresses his complete trust in the faithful nature of God. The angel of the Lord camps around those who fear him. The picture is not that of a moat around a castle that can be bridged but rather that of a coin placed on the palm of one hand and the other hand placed over the top and then both clenched so there is no way in or out. We, like that coin, are perfectly secure in the hand of God and of Christ. Therefore we can rest at peace knowing that He is the almighty God and He holds us in the palm of his hand for all time and for eternity.

‘and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand’. John 10:28-29
