Psalm 148
Here we begin the final three Psalms. All of which are songs of praise, and within each of them there is an exhortation to Praise the Lord
The Hebrew way of thinking was that the universe was made up of two parts, heaven and earth. All parts in heaven, the angels, the heavenly host, the sun, the moon, the stars and even the water that are above the heavens are all exhorted to ‘Praise the Lord’. All those that are of the earth, monsters of the deep,every type of weather, the mountains and the hills, the trees, the wild beasts, every type of domesticated animal, birds, insects and all people, rich or poor, high or low are exhorted to ‘Praise the Lord’. For he is the great God and great is his name. By his power he has created all things and appointed them a place within his created universe. Praise the Lord
