Psalm 12

Psalm 12

(Read Psalm 12)

The writer begins with a statement that would not be out of place in modern England. I am reminded of something the Lord said ‘When the Son of Man comes shall he find faith on the earth’ Luke 18:8. There are many who wish prayerfully that there is going to be a revival in our nation, in any case Christians would love to see that but The Lord, it seems to me, is thinking in the last days there will be a dearth of real godly men.

Someone recently asked if there were any Daniels around today? In the limited capacity in which I serve the Lord I cannot see any. I am like the Psalmist lamenting the lack of spiritual giants. Rather the picture that is most explicit of modern life is that men are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers off God. 2 Timothy 3:4

Whatever the situation is, the Psalmist knows something that we sometimes forget; the richness and the depth of the Word of God. The scripture alone is our handbook of truth and sure guide in maintaining a living fellowship with the Father and the Son. 1 John 1:3.
