Psalm 117
This is the shortest Psalm being comprised of only two verses, but there are two very important things for us.
The Jewish nation made a classic error in thinking that as they were the chosen nation, that God was their God and he was only the God of the Jews. Yet the Psalmist began with the call to praise the Lord, not to the Jews only, but to all the nations. For God is the God who created and maintains the whole world, in the sense of coming for all people.
Despite modern day norms that there are no absolutes, the reality is that God’s truth never changes and is everlasting. Jesus states very clearly ‘Heaven and earth will pass, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the law until all is accomplished’ Matthew 5:18
