When we think about Christmas, we often picture the things we do—decorating trees, wrapping presents, eating way too much food, and generally working ourselves into a festive frenzy—but have you ever stopped to consider how God does Christmas? God's Christmas celebration seems to revolve around one central theme—redemption, hope, and a baby who changes everything.
Bible studies are held online throughout the year and all are welcome to attend so please contact us for the details.
The beauty of God's approach to Christmas is that it turns our expectations completely upside down. We stress about the perfect gift while He sends the ultimate gift; we worry about impossible to-do lists while He casually makes the impossible happen; we focus on what we're getting while He's busy giving us salvation. If Jesus is God's gift of redemption to the world, what does it actually mean for us to receive Him this Christmas?

When we think about Christmas, we often picture the things we do—decorating trees, wrapping presents, eating way too much food—but have you ever stopped to consider how God does Christmas? Spoiler alert: He doesn't mess around with tinsel and fairy lights; instead, He sends His own Son into the world as a helpless baby, which is either the most humble entrance imaginable or the ultimate plot twist in human history. When the angel tells Mary that her child 'will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High,' what does it mean for us that God's idea of greatness looks so radically different from our own?
God's Messenger

When we think about Christmas, we often picture the chaos we create—last-minute shopping, burnt mince pies, arguments over who sits where at dinner—but have you ever considered how God does Christmas? His version involves angels, impossible pregnancies, and a reminder that "nothing will be impossible with God," which frankly makes our festive stress look a bit ridiculous in comparison. If God can pull off the impossible by bringing His Son into the world through a virgin birth, what 'impossible' things might He be inviting us to trust Him with this Christmas?
Gods Witness

When we think about Christmas, we often focus on what we're getting—presents, time off work, an excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast—but have you ever considered that God's version of Christmas is all about what He's giving us? His celebration involves sending a Saviour and prompting people like Zechariah to burst into song about how 'the Lord God of Israel has come to his people and redeemed them,' which is slightly more significant than a new pair of socks. If God's ultimate Christmas gift was redemption through Jesus, how does that change the way we think about giving and receiving this season?
GOI online bible studies are a free way of learning more about the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Come and ask questions and discuss how the life of Jesus changes everything.
Questions are always welcome at online bible studies as we look to answer big questions using the bible as our guide and the life of Jesus as our example. In the Christmas season we look to learn more about the story of redemption and the reason why the Son of God, Jesus, came to earth.
The free online Bible studies currently happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the evening London time. All are welcome please contact us for details about how to attend online.
