Psalm 58

Psalm 58

(Read Psalm 58)

There are two conditions brought to our attention in these few verses, the first in verse three ‘the wicked are estranged from birth’. The wicked is inclusive for all have sinned, Romans 3:23, but the verse tells us why we never have to teach children to misbehave or tell lies because it is in every child that has ever been born. Therefore all need to be taught the wonder of God’s love and his magnificent provision for our salvation in Christ alone.

The other item we must grasp is the problems of hypocrisy. The Greek word is the word for actor, someone who plays a part. There are many actors in life and like all good actors, in their role, they are convincing but christians should be aware of these and be aware of becoming like them that we may avoid the charge of hypocrisy. James 5:12 ‘but let your yes be yes and your no be no.’
