Psalm 94

Psalm 94

(Read Psalm 94)

I have a friend with whom I often have a chat and it sometimes moves onto the spiritual realm. This is especially true if there has been some awful event like what occurred in the Manchester Arena when the suicide bomber killed so many. My friend will say why does your friend upstairs, God, not stop it? It seems that he is in tune with the early part of the Psalm. God is the judge and one day he will exercise his authority. Paul in Romans 12:9 states vengeance is mine says the Lord, quoting from the Old Testament, but why does he not act now? The truth is although the sinful activities of the people anger God he is patient and long suffering towards us, 2 Peter 3:9, and therefore he delays his justice and vengeance to give all of us time to repent and be reconciled to him.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20
