Psalm 9

Psalm 9

(Read Psalm 9)

This particular Psalm begins with the constant theme that runs throughout the Bible, that all true believers are to be witnesses to the great God and all that He has accomplished on our behalf.

Isaiah 43 lists many of the works of God on our behalf, including salvation and redemption, deliverance and freedom, all of the great needs of man. God also reminds his people that they belong to Him and their task was to be a witness of Him.

Jesus reminds the disciples in Acts 1 that when the Holy Spirit came to them they would be witnesses of Him in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and into the whole world. Note this was not left to a special few, but to every believer, it is to be a constant in their lives.

Matthew 5:16 ‘Let your light shine before men, that they might see your good work, and glorify your Father who is in heaven’.

The Psalmist says he will witness with all of his heart, no room for lukewarm attitudes.
