Psalm 59

Psalm 59

(Read Psalm 59)

The Psalmist makes a statement of intent when he says ‘I will sing of your power, I will sing aloud of your mercy’. many believers today are happy to dwell on the wonder of God’s love. We delight at times to rejoice in his mercy. However we seem to have reduced God to being our mate and therefore have a casual approach to him. We have forgotten his greatness, his majesty and his power. The Psalmist was in the middle of his difficultieshe knew the mighty power of his God.

Someone remarked there is no fear of the Lord before their eyes Romans 3:18. How sad this seems to be true if our modern Christianity our services are so full of noise that one wonders if God is even present. even before we start a service we play music and do not appear to take the time to quieten our hearts and minds in preparation for giving God the glory and receiving a word from him.
