Psalm 47
Sometimes as Christians non-Christians accuse us of triumphalism, as we look forward to our glorious future. Sometimes as we view things from the natural standpoint we get a little downhearted.
The Psalmist here answers both these difficult situations. Yes, we are triumphalist that comes from the knowledge of the greatness of our God who is majestic, all powerful and in total control. He rules over all the earth and all of heaven, of time and all eternity. When we turn from sight to faith in this great God we learn not to be down hearted for even in the most difficult of circumstances, we know that God is in control and is working in our lives for our spiritual benefit.
