Psalm 108

Psalm 108

(Read Psalm 108)

Over many years the Jews maintained that they were the superior race, they were the elect of God. That they were the elect is not in doubt, but their pride in this great truth led them into two errors. One was that their God was theirs alone and the second was because believing that, they were disdainful of all who were not of Israel. They forgot that many from other nations knew their God too, Moses’s father-in-law, Ruth the Moabitess are two examples.

This Psalm makes it clear that God has an interest in all nations. Take John 3:16 God loves the world. He acts graciously as Jonah found out at Nineveh. Sometimes the nations were active enemies of God’s people and he deals with them in their sin and acts to deliver the people, when this occurs, the victory is certain. Psalm 108:13
