Psalm 10

Psalm 10

(Read Psalm 10)

One of the difficult things for the Christian to understand and to explain to non-believers is the continued existence of wickedness. God is a God of Love and He is almighty. Could he not just remove all the wicked people?

However God is very patient, for if he acted justly he would have to destroy everybody ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’, Romans 3:23, therefore all would be barred from God’s goodness. His patience indicates that He loves and cares for all and gives all an opportunity to repent of our sins and seek his forgiveness.

But God’s patience is not endless. The Psalmist is confident that one-day the un-repented sinners will be held responsible and face judgement. Rich and poor, high and low, all will face God and will find that they have no excuse. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
